Beaches come in all shapes and sizes, from busy to quiet and from local to organised. You choose which one appeals to you most today.
Underwater, Curaçao is perhaps even more beautiful than above. Our neighbours give diving lessons, walk in and ask about them.
From the bus stop 50 metres away to the floating market a kilometre on, most of it is a short walk. Filter by what you are looking for.
Most of Pietermaai and Punda is within walking distance, think of the floating market at 1 km and the floating bridge at 1 km. For the beaches and monuments further out on the island you take a taxi, a bus from the stop 50 metres away, or a rental car.
Seaquarium Beach (500 m) and Avila Beach (600 m) are right nearby. If you want a boulevard full of shops, bars and restaurants, Mambo Beach (3.7 km) is a great choice. For a quieter local beach, head to Marie Pompoen nearby.
A few places we genuinely recommend.
Book a walk with Dundu Tours through the trendy district of Otrabanda. Jacqueline takes you to places you would never normally visit, an absolute must.

At the end of Mambo Boulevard you can swim with dolphins and learn all about them. A special experience, for children too.
If you have rented a car, the whole of Curaçao is open to you. Every day there is a beach party or a happy hour somewhere, so you decide whether to seek out the crowds or the quiet.
Staying a week or longer? Then you have more days than we have tips. The Curaçao Tourist Board keeps the full guide to the island: hundreds of activities, every beach and dive site, and what is on this week.
